Shana Brownlee received her BA in Special Education and Elementary Education Endorsement at the University of Evansville and her Masters of Education at Indiana Wesleyan University. She taught Junior High special education in Indiana for 8 years and at the Elementary level in Illinois for 7 years. During these years she taught in multi-categorical classrooms and loved seeing the progress of each student. She left the classroom to work on the Illinois Autism Training and Technical Assistance Project a statewide technical assistance grant. As an educational consultant for the grant, Shana provided support to families and individuals with autism spectrum disorder to develop strategies and techniques across environments for individuals to remain in their home, school, and community settings. Shana enjoyed the semesters she was able to instruct at Illinois State University in the Special Education program. She was an adjunct professor for four different courses and participated in curriculum development, review, and revision process for ISTAC – Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Collaborative. Shana currently develops professional learning content for the A+ grant.
