This module presents information about Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) an important process in determining the most appropriate interventions for learners with autism. This process involves the identification of a target behavior, the function of that behavior, determining a replacement behavior, and collecting data on the effect of the interventions that are put in place as a result of the FBA analysis.
The learning outcomes for this module are:
-
Define Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)
-
Identify when to conduct a Functional Behavior Assessment
-
Identify the steps to conduct an FBA
-
Define target behaviors
-
Identify the steps to conduct an FBA
-
Identify the functions of behavior
-
Define a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)
-
Recognize ways to collect data on an identified target behavior
